Business Tax Receipt
Those applying for a Business Tax Receipt are required to fill out an application and pay a fee according to the business type. They are renewable on an annual basis effective October 1. Applications are submitted to the City Clerk's office and following approval by the Building Official and Fire Marshal, the Business Tax Receipt is issued.
If the business will be operated out of a home, a Home Business Permit application must accompany the Business Tax Receipt application. There is an additional $20.00 fee for operating a business out of your home. Some restrictions on the issuance of Home Business permits include: no persons other than family members living on the premises, no visible storage, no outside signs and no generation of noise or traffic greater than that normally generated by a residence.
