This section provides information and resources for business owners and/or residents who wish to start or operate a business within our City limits.

Business Tax Receipt
Those applying for a Commercial Business Tax Receipt must complete an application, pay a fee based on the business type, and pay a fire safety inspection fee.
Fire safety inspection fees are as follows:
Less than 2500 Square Foot: $66.00, which includes 1st reinspection (if applicable).
2501 - 10000 Square Foot: $115.50, which includes 1st reinspection (if applicable).
More than 10000 Square Foot: $231.00, which includes 1st reinspection (if applicable).
Business Tax Receipts are renewable annually, effective October 1. Applications are submitted to the City Clerk's office, and following approval by the Building Official and Fire Marshal, and payment, the Business Tax Receipt is issued.
If the business will be operated out of a home, there are some restrictions on the issuance of Home Business permits, including: no persons other than family members living on the premises, no visible storage, no outside signs, and no generation of noise or traffic greater than that normally generated by a residence.
